Temperature management method for oil-immersed transformers

‌Temperature protection device‌: Oil-immersed transformers are usually equipped with temperature protection devices, such as thermal relays and temperature detectors. When the transformer temperature exceeds the set upper limit, the temperature protection device will automatically disconnect the transformer power supply or trigger an alarm to avoid overheating hazards.

Ambient temperature: In a high temperature environment, the heat dissipation performance of the transformer will be affected, resulting in an increase in oil temperature. Therefore, additional cooling measures should be taken in high temperature seasons, such as increasing the investment in cooling equipment or adjusting the operation mode of the transformer. Transformers installed outdoors should take sun protection and shading measures to reduce the impact of solar radiation on oil temperature. For example, a sunshade can be built above the transformer or a reflector can be installed.

The temperature management of oil-immersed transformers involves many aspects. In order to ensure the normal operation of the transformer and extend its service life, operators should regularly monitor and maintain the temperature and take corresponding cooling measures according to the actual situation. At the same time, the daily management and maintenance of the transformer should be strengthened to timely discover and deal with potential problems and ensure the stability and reliability of the power system.
