1. Test preparation

Before performing a performance test, you need to make adequate preparations. First, make sure that the test environment meets the relevant standards to ensure safety. Before testing, check the appearance of the box-type transformer to see if there is any obvious damage or oil leakage. In addition, you need to prepare the necessary test instruments, such as a multimeter, thermometer, insulation tester, etc.

2. Electrical performance test

Electrical performance test mainly includes insulation resistance test, ratio test and load test. Insulation resistance test can be performed by using an insulation tester. And it is usually required that the insulation resistance value should be greater than the specified standard to ensure the safety of the equipment.

The ratio test needs to be performed by using a ratio tester to ensure that the transformer ratio meets the design requirements.

The no-load loss and load loss test is to measure the no-load loss and load loss of the transformer using a power analyzer by applying the rated voltage and load . The efficiency of the transformer and its performance under different load conditions are evaluated to ensure that the transformer can operate normally under actual working conditions and meet the design requirements.

3. Thermal performance test

The box-type transformer will generate heat during operation, so thermal performance test is very important. The temperature of each component of the transformer, including windings, cores and oil tanks, can be monitored by temperature measuring instruments. During the test, pay attention to the temperature rise to ensure that it is within the specified range to avoid equipment failure due to overheating.

4. Mechanical performance test

The first is the box strength and sealing test. It is to detect whether there is air leakage in the box by applying a certain pressure and evaluate the strength and sealing performance of the box, so as to ensure the safety and reliability of the box in harsh operating environments. Then there is the inspection of connectors and fixtures. Check whether the connectors and fixtures of the transformer are firm and reliable to avoid loosening or falling off during operation.

5. Recording and Analysis

During the test process, various test data and observations should be recorded in detail. This includes test time, test environment, test instrument, test method, test data, etc. Compare the test results with standard values or historical data to analyze whether the performance of the transformer is qualified or abnormal. If any abnormality is found, timely repair or replace the equipment. And the records should be kept for subsequent tracking and analysis.

The performance test of box-type transformers is a complex and meticulous task, which requires the testers to have rich professional knowledge and practical experience. Through scientific and standardized testing methods, the safe operation and long-term use of box-type transformers can be effectively guaranteed. At the same time, it is recommended to regularly maintain and inspect the box-type transformers in daily use, and establish a complete archive management system to record the results of each test to provide a basis for subsequent maintenance and management. In addition, with the continuous advancement of technology and the upgrading of equipment, test methods and standards should also be continuously updated and improved to adapt to new needs and challenges.
