The noise problem of dry type transformers is a complex issue that requires comprehensive control of multiple factors. The noise mainly comes from the vibration of the transformer, the electromagnetic field, and the installation and operating environment. In order to effectively control the noise of dry type transformers, we must take a series of control measures.
Causes of dry type transformer noise
Dry type transformers mainly generate the following noises when in operation:
1. Core vibration noise: The transformer core is subject to electromagnetic force, which will cause vibration and noise.
2. Wind noise: The air flow in the transformer air duct will cause noise.
3. Winding noise: When the current in the transformer winding flows through the wire, a magnetic field will be generated, which will cause noise.
Noise control measures
1. Reduce the influence of magnetic field
First of all, the fundamental reason for the noise generated by dry type transformers is the influence of magnetic field. Therefore, to reduce noise, we must reduce the influence of magnetic field. The following methods can be used:
· Select low-noise equipment. Low-noise equipment will take the influence of magnetic field into special consideration when designing to minimize the generation of noise.
· Reduce the transformer load rate. The greater the load rate, the stronger the influence of magnetic field and the greater the noise generated. Therefore, methods such as distributing load and increasing the number of transformers can be used to achieve the purpose of reducing the load rate.
· Reduce magnetic flux leakage. By improving the insulation performance of transformer windings and improving the quality of iron core, magnetic flux leakage can be reduced, thereby reducing the generation of noise.
2. Improve sound transmission performance
In addition to reducing the impact of the magnetic field, the sound transmission performance of the dry type transformer can also be improved to achieve the purpose of reducing noise. The specific methods are as follows:
· Install the transformer reasonably. The installation location of the transformer should be selected according to the cause of the noise, so as to reduce the generation of noise.
· Reduce the sound transmission distance. By improving the surrounding environment of the transformer and adopting sound insulation measures, the distance of sound wave propagation can be shortened, thereby reducing the spread of noise.
· Use noise reduction materials. Noise reduction materials such as sound-absorbing materials and sound insulation materials can be used around the transformer to reduce the spread of noise.
3. Strengthen maintenance
· Regular inspection and adjustment. Regularly inspect the transformer for noise and make necessary adjustments based on the inspection results. For example, adjust the tap position to reduce the noise generated by overexcitation; tighten the housing screws, fan fastening bolts, etc. to reduce resonance noise.
·Cleaning and maintenance. Clean and maintain the transformer regularly to keep its surface and interior clean and free of debris. In particular, components such as fan blades and heat sinks should be cleaned of dust and oil regularly to ensure normal operation and reduce noise.
·Load management. Reasonably control the load of the transformer to avoid long-term overload operation. Overload operation will cause the transformer temperature to rise and vibration to intensify, thereby increasing noise generation. At the same time, for loads with harmonic pollution, a detuning device should be installed to reduce noise generation.
