What is the temperature controller for a dry type transformer?
Dry-type transformers will generate heat due to losses during operation. If the temperature is too high, it will accelerate the aging of insulation materials, reduce the service life of the transformer, and even cause safety accidents. The dry-type transformer temperature controller can monitor the temperature of the transformer in real time and take corresponding control measures when the temperature is abnormal to ensure that the transformer operates within a safe temperature range.
The temperature controller of dry-type transformer consists of three parts: temperature monitoring, signal processing and output control. It adopts single-chip microcomputer technology and uses three platinum thermal resistors embedded in the three-phase winding of the dry-type transformer to detect and display the temperature rise of the transformer winding. At the same time, it also has corresponding alarm and control functions to ensure that the transformer operates in a safe state.
Main types of dry-type transformer temperature controllers
1.Mechanical temperature controllers
Mechanical temperature controllers achieve temperature control through mechanical transmission mechanisms. It has the advantages of simple structure and low cost, but accuracy is relatively low and response speed is slow. It is suitable for occasions where temperature control requirements are not high.
2.Electronic temperature controllers
Electronic temperature controllers use electronic circuits to detect and control temperature. It has the advantages of high accuracy, fast response speed, rich functions, and can realize complex temperature control strategies. At present, electronic temperature controllers have been widely used in dry-type transformers.
3. Intelligent temperature controller
The intelligent temperature controller combines microprocessor technology and communication technology, and has the characteristics of high intelligence and remote monitoring. It can be connected to the host computer or monitoring system through the communication interface to realize remote temperature monitoring and control of the transformer.
The role of dry-type transformer temperature controller
1.Temperature monitoring
The temperature controller can measure the temperature of key parts such as the winding temperature and core temperature of the dry-type transformer in real time and accurately. The temperature sensor installed inside the transformer converts the temperature signal into an electrical signal and transmits it to the processing unit of the temperature controller, thereby realizing real-time monitoring of the transformer temperature.
2. Over-temperature protection
When the temperature of the transformer exceeds the set safety threshold, the temperature controller will immediately send out an alarm signal to remind the operator to take measures. At the same time, it can also automatically start cooling devices, such as fans, to enhance the heat dissipation of the transformer and reduce the temperature. If the temperature continues to rise and reaches a dangerous value, the temperature controller will issue a trip command to cut off the power supply of the transformer to prevent the transformer from being damaged due to overheating.
3. Data recording and analysis
Some advanced temperature controllers have data recording and analysis functions. They can record the temperature history data of the transformer and generate temperature curves to help operators analyze the operating status and temperature change trends of the transformer. By analyzing these data, potential problems of the transformer can be discovered in time, and corresponding maintenance measures can be taken to improve the reliability and service life of the transformer.
